Jamaat-e-Islami was founded in the Indian subcontinent in 1941 by about seventy learned men, under the leadership of the eminent scholar and thinker Sayyid Abul Ala Mawdudi. It is a comprehensive revival movement.
Re-organized after Independence in 1948 as Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), it has been working in the country for about six decades with its own policies and programs taking into consideration the social, cultural and political circumstances that prevail in India. JIH has its Headquarters in New Delhi and has branches in all provinces. Its organizational structure comprises of a Central Representative Council (CRC) having deputies elected every four years from among the members of the organization, the Ameer (President) and a Central Consultative Council (Majlis Shura) both elected by the CRC.....Click Here to Continue |

Forty one families whose lives had been in misery, since being evicted in the name of development, got justice through the popular agitation led by the Solidarity. For the residents of the Mukkaal Cent Colony of the Kulathooppuzha Panchayath in the Kollam district, their two decade-long agony has come to an end. The families were exploited by the left and right fronts, who came to power alternately, for their own interests. Solidarity Unveils Endosulfan Rehab Scheme
Jama'at-e-Islami Hind Kerala Circle Ameer T Arifali unveiled the project, conceived and drawn up by the Solidarity Youth Movement, for the rehabilitation of endosulfan victims in five panchayats in Kasaragod district. The first phase of the scheme of Rs 50,00,000 will cover expenses for building houses, education, medical treatment, ration and employment for those affected by the tragedy. The panchayats that will be benefited by the scheme are Enkamache, Kumbadache, Mooliyar, Kayoor-cheemeni and Pulloor-periya.
