History

In the August of 1941 under the leadership of eminent scholar and thinker Abul Ala Maududi 70 scholars gave birth to Jamaat-E- Islami in the undivided India. Under the leadership of Maududi’s disciple VP Muhammad Ali, Kerala chapter of the organization came into existence in 1946 itself.
After the partition, on April 16th 1948 the organization was renewed as Jamaat-e- Islami Hind. Since then for over six decades Jamaat has been operating in India with an independent policy and program giving due importance to republic’s unique conditions and circumstances.
Kerala chapter of the organization came into existence in 1946 under the able leadership of VP Muhammad Ali, a disciple of Abul Ala Maududi,. For the past 6 decades, JIH Kerala has been considerably contributing to cultural and social up-liftment of the state.
