Women empowerment

JIH has always emphasized on making available rights of women provided to her in Islam. Madarasathul Banaath, founded in Chendamangaloor in 1960 is the first Islamic women’s college in Kerala. In the various parts of the State there are nearly 25 institutions run by JIH exclusively for Women. In 1984 GIO, an organization for the female students, was formed under the aegis of JIH and in 1985 Organization started publishing, Aramam, a magazine for women.

Over 100,000 ladies attended the historic state conference of JIH in 2008 at “Hira Nagar” in Kooriyad, Malapuram. More than 10000 women are students of Quran Study Center instituted by JIH in most of the towns and villages of the State.
Ladies are members of IRW, the service wing of JIH. One of the State Secretaries of JIH is a woman. Women are members of State committee of JIH (Shura).
